Greater Rochelle Area Christian Educators is considered a Workshop, not a co-op. Simply put, this group is designed for families to pay fees directly to various
teachers for the services rendered. There is no requirement for parents
to teach. However we do ask and encourage participation and
volunteering. You may be asked to
help in a class, be a hall way monitor, and lend a hand when needed.
PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DROP OFF THEIR CHILDREN and leave. GRACE is not a school, but a workshop designed to enrich your child's home school experience.
The
mission of GRACE is to provide a
spiritually uplifting atmosphere, to promote character development,
academic support and social interaction for home schooled students and
their families. We seek to assist the parents in their task to educate,
not replace them. We seek to establish guidelines so that everything can
be done “decently and in order” (1 Cor. 14:40) and so that distractions
to our goals are minimized. We seek to promote a spirit of Christian
love, unity and to uphold a standard of excellence. G.R.A.C.E.
instructors and board members must understand the foundational function
of and be in agreement with the G.R.A.C.E. statement of faith.A variety of Biblically based curricula
are used for the various classes we offer. Science classes for grades
4-12th currently use the Apologia Science curriculum and math classes
for grades 5-12th use the Saxon Math curriculum. We strive to offer
something for each age group K-12, and a few choices for Pre-K. Download
our current schedule in Forms and Docs.
